Adventure Program

At Cran-Hill Ranch, we use our Adventure Program as a tool to help groups achieve their goals by:

1. Facilitating communication and mutual support within the group,
2. Developing the participant's sense of personal confidence & self-awareness,
3. Promoting an awareness of the beauty of God's creation. Providing reflection which takes the experience and uses it to illustrate parallels to life and spiritual development.

The Adventure Program offers physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges and then reflects on, interprets, and applies them. Although each program is different, they are all drawn from a core of four activity levels:

ICE BREAKERS - These are designed to lay the groundwork for interaction that will be vital to success with later activities. These activities are non-threatening, and allow for a participant controlled level of involvement. Ice Breakers loosen up a group and create a positive mood.

TRUST BUILDING - This is fundamental in relationships, especially in our relationship to Jesus Christ. Trust Activities allow participants to build trust in others, and in their own ability to try things that were thought to be impossible. Building trust among team members is a vital step in their ability to work together to reach the established goals.

PROBLEM SOLVING - These mental and physical challenges require the participation of the entire group to make a solution possible. Valuable lessons can be learned about how we organize, lead, interact, communicate, and depend on others in a group setting. It is through these challenges that a true team can be built.

RISK TAKING - High Adventure requires participants to deal with the perceived risk of being thirty or more feet off the ground while attached to a secure belay system. These activities build a sense of self-worth and confidence. High Adventure Activities put participants in a position to test their own limits and fears and deal with personal issues of control and success.
