Ladies, have you ever felt like you haven’t been able to just have time for you? Then you are invited to join us at Refresh! Our women’s retreat where we have planned out everything so that you can come and relax, recharge, and refresh yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. We will take care of all the food and fun so that you can focus on the things that you need to. We will worship together, study God’s Word together and take time to reflect on all that He has done for us.
We know that life is busy, that’s why we have set up this retreat with a flexible schedule that gives you options. You can commute in from home each day or if you can’t stay the whole weekend you can take off Saturday night. Refresh is priced through Saturday night so you can take off or you can stay through the morning session on Sunday for no extra charge! Don’t miss the chance to get away and Refresh here at CranHill.
Meet Shannon Popkin!
This Year's Retreat Speaker
I’m Shannon Popkin. I’m a wife and mom, a writer and speaker, a small group leader and Bible teacher. I’m happy to be sharing life with Ken, who–after 23 years–still makes me laugh every day. Together, we live the fast-paced life of parenting two college-aged kids and a teen.
Lindsay is a student at Liberty University (my alma mater!), Cole graduated in ’18 and is participating in a gap year missions school, and Cade is a freshman in high school. As a mom, I love cheering my kids on from the sidelines and taking pictures of them (can you hear them groaning?). As a family, we love to open our front door to family and friends, here in West Michigan, and we are deeply invested in Ada Bible Church. We are so thankful to be part of a ministry where God’s Word is central and people are welcome.
I’m so excited about how God has been using my book, Control Girl: Lessons on Surrendering Your Burden of Control from Seven Women in the Bible, in the lives of women across the country. With God’s help, I’m on a path that leads from Control Girl to Jesus Girl–and I love it that so many are joining me.
This year (2019) I’ve been working on a new Bible study, titled Comparison Girl: Lessons from Jesus to Flip the Script on Your Measure-Up Mindset. I’m amazed at all the God has been showing me about comparing from his perspective, rather than the world’s.
As a speaker, I love to combine my gifts for humor and storytelling with my passion for Jesus and the truth of God’s Word. I speak for ladies’ events, retreats, and moms groups
"Shannon was absolutely amazing. She connected with our women, her words were true and brought so much hope for our relationships with family and with Jesus! Shannon was well prepared, and very professional yet, was able to enjoy herself as she engaged with the women at the retreat! I couldn’t recommend Shannon enough!"
Meet Kylee & Ben Fisher!
This Year's Retreat Worship Leaders
Kylee Phillips-Fisher is a singer-songwriter, pianist, and worship leader with over ten years of experience, first as a member of LifeChurch Canton and now as a member of the team which planted LifeChurch Livonia in 2014. She has had the opportunity to lead worship at several camps and retreats throughout the state of Michigan and has performed with many artists she admires, including John Mark McMillan, JJ Heller, Kris Allen, Bebo Norman, and many others.
Through her engaging and vulnerable style of worship leading, Kylee hopes to invite others into a one-on-one encounter with God where they will see that they are fully known and fully loved by a God who is worthy of our highest praise.
Ben Fisher is a guitarist and songwriter as well as an experienced studio and live audio engineer, having received his degree in Music Production and Technology in 2010. In addition to over ten years serving in the church, he has performed with several artists in the Metro Detroit area and has extensive experience in the worlds of corporate entertainment and live music production. Ben has a passion for using music to create an atmosphere in which people can meet with God, and for using his technical skill to eliminate any distractions or barriers that may get in the way of reaching that end.
